Our BEYOND Japan Team’s vision is to ultimately see Disciple Making Movements in Japan: That the word of the Lord will spread rapidly among the Japanese people—both inside and outside of Japan—leading to movements of multiplying disciples and churches, transforming whole families and communities into the image of Christ.

Partner with us to see Disciple Making Movements in Japan
We believe God is doing something powerful through the emergence of Disciple Making Movements in Japan—both inside Japan and among Japanese communities around the world. We are earnestly praying for the Word of the Lord is spreading rapidly, and we long to see it lead to multiplying disciples and simple churches that transform lives, families, and communities.
What Are Disciple Making Movements?
Disciple Making Movements (DMMs) happen when ordinary believers share the Gospel and make disciples who make disciples. Through Discovery Bible Study and relational discipleship, new Christ-following communities emerge and multiply. These are not just regular church services—they are actually simple gatherings that obey God’s Word, support one another, and reach others.
WHAT WE DO
We function as movement catalysts in Japan, engaging in:
- Sharing Jesus through relational discipleship and Discovery Bible Study (DBS) in Japanese and in English
- Mobilizing prayer for unreached people groups in Japan
- Equipping Japanese believers to start Christ‑following communities
- Coaching leaders and church planters in disciple making
- Supporting missionaries, missionary families, and mission work in Japan
Why Disciple Making Movements in Japan Matter
We believe God is preparing the way for Disciple Making Movements in Japan.
Though movements of multiplying disciples and churches are still rare in Japan, we’re full of hope and conviction: God is at work. He is raising up ordinary believers, both inside Japan and among the Japanese diaspora, to make disciples who make disciples—until every person has access to the Gospel.
Our team is committed to equipping Japanese believers, supporting missionaries, and launching Discovery Bible Studies that can lead to multiplying churches. As Japanese disciples encounter Jesus in Scripture and follow Him together in community, we believe whole families and communities will be transformed into the image of Christ.
We long to see Japan saturated with Christ-following communities.
God’s Word is powerful. We believe that soon, the Word of the Lord will spread rapidly among the Japanese people—sparking authentic transformation, simple churches, and spiritual multiplication. Join us in pursuing that vision through prayer, giving, and partnership.

We work together with others sharing a similar vision to start Church Planting Movements (CPM) or Disciple Making Movements in Japan (DMM) to transform unreached people groups (UPGs).
Our role is to join this God-sized mission in functioning as movement catalysts, specifically among the people of Japan.
We pray discovery groups will turn into Disciple Making Movements in Japan that will not only multiply disciples but also lead to movements birthing new movements.
We connect with and support missionaries and Japanese believers who have a heart for seeing Japanese disciples multiplied, both in our community and around the globe. We share Jesus, serve, cast vision, equip, coach and mentor.

Why do we also focus on Japanese nationals both in Japan and around the world?
Simply put—we listened to God. He even led us to spend several years working among the Japanese communities of Southeast Asia. We’ve seen firsthand that Japanese abroad are often more open to the Gospel.
Over 90% of these nationals return to Japan within five years. With around 300,000 living across Southeast Asia, God has given us a vision: to send them back to Japan with both a passion for the Gospel and the training to make reproducing disciples—transforming their families, communities, and society.

JOIN THE MISSION
Whether through prayer, giving, or joining a team, you can help see Disciple Making Movements in Japan grow. Together, we can reach the unreached—until every Japanese person has access to a vibrant, multiplying community of Jesus-followers.
